Briefly, the game of baseball in
Australia evolved into a national and international professional league
for the first time during the 1989/90 Australian summer. |

| Who are Flintoff &
Dunn? Peter Flintoff & Adrian Dunn are baseball (sports) fanatics based in "the home of sport" Melbourne, Australia. Adrian is a professional sports journalist with Australia's largest selling daily newspaper, while Peter is a computer software developer who specialises in sports statistical databases. In partnership, Flintoff & Dunn decided to produce publications that would become the definitive history of Australian Major League Baseball. Together we have produced the most comprehensive statistical history of AMLB with every baseball statistic you can think of, along with our other primary intention of providing recognition for the teams and players who have made our major league baseball such great entertainment for people like us! For our Australian
Subscribers & International Baseball Fans: As Australian fans would be aware, not only have our National Leagues showcased the very best Australian baseballers, but we have also provided a very high standard "winter ball" league for minor league players from the United States of America for more than ten years. More recently, our IBLA has also invited leading baseballers from many nations including Taiwan, Korea and South Africa, as well as maintaining our links with the US major league organisations. In order to emphasise the "standard" of Australian Major League Baseball, we will always refer to the number of players we have hosted who have progressed to the highest standard in the baseball world... the US Major Leagues. We think it is most significant that MORE THAN 100 players from Australia's summer league have made their way to the "The Show" in the USA since our leagues began in 1989/90. If you don't believe us about AMLB
players who reached the USA majors, click
here. If you would like the latest news about our Australian baseballers in the USA Leagues, click here. |
